Today’s wander brings us to the Waikanae Library; the cheerful pop-up space that’s been holding our community together while the main library building undergoes its major transformation into Te Ara Whetū. Set right in the town centre, t ✨ Light Up Waikanae is happening next week! ✨ Mahara Place is coming alive for a special winter night market, with local food, music, stalls, lights and plenty of reasons to rug up and head into town. You’ll find some favourite Mahara Place f ✨ LIGHT UP WAIKANAE ✨ A Night Market in Mahara Place Join us for an evening of live music, market stalls, mulled wine, cosy food, late night shopping and winter atmosphere in the heart of Mahara Place. 📅 Friday 19 June 🕟 4:30–8:30pm 📍 Maha Today’s wander takes us to the Waimanu Lagoons Reserve, one of Waikanae’s calmest, prettiest spots for a short walk and a bit of fresh air. If you’ve ever walked the loop here, you already know it’s basically a birdies paradis Today we're wandering a little further afield to Southward Car Museum, to see the infamous Mickey Cohen “Gangster Cadillac”- one of the most dramatic cars you’ll ever see up close! This 1950 Cadillac Model 50 was custom-built for L 🛼🕺🎶 Get your groove on! Head down to Waikanae Memorial Hall 6pm for a skating lesson, 7pm for a roller disco.
